What do you do?
WE ARE A YOUTH-LED RADIO STATION GIVING YOUNG PEOPLE A VOICE.
Ocean Youth Radio was created in 2012 with the aim of getting our voices heard in and around Torbay.
12 years later, we are on DAB across torbay, Reaching record numbers of listeners, broadcasting live at our Ocean Youth Studio, bringing more young people together than ever.
Our studio is currently based but ocean youth continues to reach far and wide, Broadcasting from all around the bay.
Ocean Youth is recognised nationally and has won and been nominated for awards such as ‘Community Station of the year’ ‘Achievement within the community’ from Young audio awards, UKARIAS, Community radio awards and more!
Ocean Youth’s presenters have been at loads of events around the bay including the; Imagine This Festival, Paignton Carnival, Winner St Christmas Market and The Jubilee Jamboree (to name but a few). We’ve also done live FM Broadcasts for the Grinagog Festival and the Ageing Well Festival.
We also create original podcasts that tackle important issues such as: social media, mental health, bullying, self-harm, transition to secondary school and exam stress.
